How is my application assessed?

Each Fund has an independent Advisory Board, which is made up of a cross section of the local community from the business, voluntary and public sector. This group will make a decision on your application at an advisory board meeting; the Tees Valley Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees then ratifies this decision.

The Application Process

Stage 1
Once your application is received, we will check that you have included all of the relevant information and send an acknowledgement and if necessary advise you of any additional information required.

Stage 2

Once we have received all of the information required to progress your application an initial assessment will be made by one of our assessors.

Stage 3
Your application will be submitted to the relevant Advisory Board for a decision, pending final approval.

Stage 4
Following the review of your application by the Advisory Board, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees will ratify any decision about your application.

Stage 5
You will receive a letter outlining the decision and any relevant documentation relating to a successful application.
If your application is successful and is to fund capital items (e.g. equipment) you will be required to submit either an invoice for the goods or receipts. If your application is successful to fund revenue costs you will receive a cheque for the relevant amount.
If your application is unsuccessful we will write to you.

Stage 6
The Community Foundation is keen to monitor and evaluate the impact of our grant making on local people and communities.
We will send you a grant monitoring report with your grant cheque, which you will need to complete within a specified time frame after receipt of the grant. You may also receive a visit from one of our grants officers to monitor your progress.
