Getting the Inactive Active in Teesside

Are you a community group on Teesside that wants to encourage local people to be physically active, or take part in sport?
If so please come to our information session where we will be announcing a new funding stream to support your projects.
Entitled ‘Getting the Inactive Active, the funding is provided by Tees Valley Community Foundation working in partnership with Sport England and aims to support local community groups to target inactive people in their area and encourage them to introduce sport and physical activity into their lives.
Funding is available for up to 12 months and can be used for a variety of purposes including start-up costs, coaching, volunteer development, training, facility hire and marketing. However, eligible groups must have their own governing document, bank account and board and must not be a sports club delivering sports activities.
The next round of funding will open on February 12th 2018. Groups are encouraged to attend an Information Session in the Middlehaven Room at The Riverside Stadium. Groups are invited to attend either a sessions from 2-4pm or a session from 5-7pm, on Monday 12th February 2018. To be eligible for this funding you must meet the following criteria:
- You are primarily a community group that does not regularly deliver sport or physical activity projects;
- You have a governing document, bank account and set of accounts; and
- Your proposed project is new and aims to get currently inactive people active.
