Helping Young People on Teesside Overcome Economic, Physical and Social Disadvantage

Does your group provide activities to support young people on Teesside dealing with economic, physical and social disadvantage?

Do you work with young people with disabilities or maybe help young carers deal with life’s daily challenges? If so, the Lieutenant Colonel N L Cohen Charitable Trust may be able to support your ambition to help young people enjoy their lives, free from worry and stress.

Trustees would like to support local groups with up to £2,000 to deliver activities that give young people a break from caring responsibilities or help young people deal with difficult economic, physical and social issues?

Activities must take place between 1st April 2017 and be completed by 31st March 2018.

Groups are invited to apply by typed letter on no more than 2 sides of A4.  Groups must detail:

• Their organisational aims and objectives in relation to young people

• The level of disadvantage that the young people are facing

• The activities that will be undertaken with any grant awarded and why these particular activities have been chosen

• The number of young people who will benefit from any grant awarded

• A cost breakdown showing how any grant awarded will be spent

Grant request letters can be submitted at any time from 1st February 2017 until 5pm on 1st March 2017. Letters received after this date will not be considered.

Successful applicants will be informed by 31st March 2017.

Applications can be submitted by constituted groups based in Stockton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. Groups will need to provide a copy of their constitution or governing document, proof of bank account with at least 2 unrelated signatories and any safeguarding policies in place prior to any grant monies being paid.

If your group is interested in applying, please contact Tanya Gray by email on t.gray@teesvalleyfoundation.org for further information.

Tees Valley Small Grant Fund

Maximum Grant = £1,000

Area of Benefit

Tees Valley

Details

Tees Valley Small Grant Fund is the new quick and easy grant available to community groups from Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland.  It provides a fundamental link between our resources and the community. The Fund prioritises projects that address issues of disadvantage, projects fulfilling a need not already being met and projects aimed at improving the social environment. The Fund draws from a number of individual funds, which the Foundation holds on behalf of businesses, individuals and trusts. Grants of up to £1,000 are available and decisions are made within 4 weeks of the Foundation receiving an application.

Applications exceed the amount of funding we have available and therefore priority will be given to those activities that are essential to the running of a group/organisation.  For activities that are of a more desirable nature, groups are encouraged to fundraise themselves and not apply for a TVCF small grant.  For example if a group would like to hold a Christmas party or take members on a daytrip or outing we would consider this desirable not essential.
