About Us

The Tees Valley Community Foundation is an independent non-profit grant-making organisation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people in the Tees Valley. We offer a solution for those who want their giving to be to the benefit of the community.

The Community Foundation is a local organisation – in touch with the community and responding to local needs. We work hard to channel all charitable donations and community investment directly into grass roots community groups and projects particularly to alleviate all forms of disadvantage.

During the last financial year we have been able to support more voluntary groups than ever before, we distributed over £1.4 million of grants to around 340 projects and charities making us the largest local grant giver in the Tees Valley. The grants were part funded by our Endowment Funds, which are held on behalf of companies, individuals and trusts across the region. The Foundation also distributes Funds on behalf of government agencies, through a variety of grant making programmes.

Most of our grants provide valuable practical help to small groups and we are constantly humbled at the difference that relatively small grants can make to the communities we support.

Tees Valley Community Foundation is a member of the Community Foundation Network, a professional representative body of Community Foundations across the UK, if you would like to find out more please visit www.communityfoundations.org.uk
